Old & New

As for Old team and New job. Yes, I started a new job very recently at my previoud office. Funny how life turned huh ? I enjoy so far my new activity as I knew very well the job and the company. One thing that bugs me a lil bit is that the fact that I am a consultant instead of employees and my new collegues (consultants) are mostly fresh graduates! Being a consultant here in FR is different from the one I used to know when I worked back in Jakarta. Well it's a long story I don't feel like to elaborate it now. My new collegues consultants are sooo effin' young... I feel like an alien. I try hard to socialize tho (you know who I am). As I speak now after 1 and half month, I managed to get along with few people.
This week has been a sunny week, we decided to go on picnic altogether the employees and the consultants. The result is abundance of food and photos! Oh by the way, do you know how many nationalities represented in the whole team ? Let's see, Chinese, Indonesian (me myself and I), Thai, Morrocan, Algerian, Tunisian, Lebanese, French, Italian, Spanish, Polish, Venezuelian, African (there are 3 of them but could figure out their nationalities), Créole... at least 16 nationalities. What a multi-cultural environment.

Yes, I have been blessed with one in a life time opportunity. Together with four other balinese dancers, we were asked to be the background dancers for Anggun at the closing of Téléthon (a TV fund raising for the benefit of genetically rare diseases reseache). I was super excited with the project. I've been living in Paris for over 13 years and I never came across her until now. I hope she's happy with our performance and I would be given such an opportunity in the future. Good luck Anggun for the Eurovision.

Tari Panji

Sekarang giliran mamanya yang pentas tari bali, tari Panji semirang di Cirque d'Hiver. Ini pentas yang ke 2 di tempat ini, yang tipe panggungnya arena (namanya juga sirkus). Jadi koreografinya harus menghadap ke segala jurusan... ngerti kan maksud ku ?

Meet up with Matt

Akhirnya jadi juga ketemuan dg si Matt sekeluarga, setelah tentatif yg pertama gagal thn lalu. Kita janjian ketemuan di Disneyland. Lucu juga ketemu baby yg kita "pantau" sejak lama. Perasaan jadi kayak sudah lama kenalnya. Célia dan Matt pun kelihatannya kompak, liat aja mereka kerja sama utk mencabut pedangnya raja Arthur.

First time to a 3D movie

 

I took Célia to see Rio in 3D. Unfortunately after 20 minutes of film she asked me to go home. She was so affraid of Nigel the mean bird. Poor girl. So much for our 3D experience.

Kechak performance - suite

Our first official performance (voluntary) was taken place at St. Lambert des bois, a small-bourgeois town near Versailles. Sesajen mepeed by the girls (including Célia) opened our performance. It was not planned at first, but she wanted to participate with other girls. Yay it was her first performance. Then there are 3 dances and closed by kechak performance. Bravo girls!

On the prairie

Cuma mau cerita bahwa sejak kenalan sama bbrp orang indonesia di savoy, saya selalu nyempatkan ketemu mereka saat saya jemput/antar Célia ke rumah mamie & papounya.
Di hari kartini ini, kita makan siang bareng terus jalan2 ke hutan sekalian foto2 menikmati musin semi. Thanks girls, I had so much fun!

Pesta musim semi

Seperti tahun lalu, gue jadi volunteer utk jaga stand make up. Setelah kursus kilat dari salah satu panitya, akhirnya specialisasi gue ngelukis kupu-kupu. Sepeti tahun laluuuu, Célia agak2 kolokan: ngga mau piknik bareng teman sekelas, caper melulu sama gue aaaah. Namun tidak seperti tahun laluuuu, udaranya super enak banget. Oh ya Célia kali ini memakai kostum indian... hu hu ha ha hu hu ha ha

Untuk mengisi hari rabu yg cerah ini, Célia main sepeda di taman bois de Vincennes. Sibuk deh dia mungutin bunga utk bikin bouquet utk mama.... so sweet.

Sebetulnya acara ke belanda ini dalam rangka nemenin kakak gue yg nemenin sahabat SMA & anaknya keliling Eropa. Karena gue kenal deket sama temennya kakak gue ini, gue ngikut deh ngeramein acara. Temennya kakak gue ini nyanteeei, ngga ada target harus lihat ini itu... cool juga. Tapi teuteup wiken kita padat banget: keliling2 Amsterdam, day trip ke Den Haag & Scheveningen, meet up dg temen kuliah dan ketemuan sama sodara gue... dan tentunya makan enak terus! kroket... me want kroket

Sisters' reunion

Sementara Célia di rumah mamie & papou selama liburan musim dingin dan papanya kerja, saya "manfaatin" beberapa hari untuk mengunjungi kakak2 saya di Zurich :-) Kita sempat jalan2 day trip bertiga ke St. Moritz naik kereta api panorama. Seru abis ngobrol2 selama di perjalanan, belum lagi jalan2 di kota kecil yg borju banget itu. Pulangnya bertambah deh tas belanjaan. Biar ah yg penting hepi!

Birthday dinner cruise

The next day, we had a lovely dinner cruire with my parents in law and my dear sis who came especially from Zurich for the occasion. Thank you for this beautiful birthday present.

Another birthday party, another birthday cake

Yes, this is the 3rd time I made a barbie cake for a birthday party and this will be the last one. I had enuf of trying to please others but at the end it always turn out a mess. The first time, my barbie cake was not turn out well: the cake was hard on top and the decoration was so so (I didn't have enuf fondant). I felt bad and kept apologizing to my friend (let say A) for the accident and that time was a trial.

The second time,  not only it turn out beautifully, it tasted delicious. I was so proud. But my friend (let say B) did a terrible mistake, she bragged about it in front of A which is also the invitée. I felt really bad. I did tell B that I didn't appreciate what she did to A. And again I had to apologize to A (for what, for making a beatiful cake this time). For your information all these cakes I did it for free. I like to bake a cake and I love when people complementing my cake (hihihi sick isn't it).

The third time, the one you see above, is the worst. Not that the cake is a fail, it is a beautiful and delicous cake. But because my friend (let say C) is claming in her FB (which I have access) that SHE made the cake. Well for being exact she's making allusions by using worlds "kita", "bikinan sendiri", "hasil kerja sendiri lhoo", "jadi kalau mau pesen sudah tau ya kemana". For God's sake this one is the best. I know that she wanted to make a business out of it but still... stealing other's property (or making other think that it was her creation) is really not ethical. Shame on you! Moreover, she pratically begged me to bake the cake for her daughter (unlike the previous two cases that I was the one who proposed to bake the cake as their daughter are célia's close friends). And I DID NOT charge anything! I even showed her the recipe and how to make the decoration. And putting lies on her FB account that I can access and read... is really really stupid. I didn't know about this FB incident until a friend of mine (B) told me a month later. I was really really pissed off. I did not confront C (unlike what I did to B) as I said to myself, hey what the heck, I will be carefull next time with this lady and I don't appreciate our friendship anymore (only hai hai friend lah). NO MORE BARBIE CAKE for others!

PS: C did make a business out of this barbie cake, she bought all the material and everything. The D day, she called me (in a panick) for advice because her cake was not high enuf to form the long dress. She had to make a normal round cake to support the barbie. Ha ha!

the street in front of our building

Perancis lumpuh.... belum juga masuk musim dingin secara resmi, badai salju sudah melanda perancis (dan eropa pada umumnya). Selama berjam-jam, salju turun tanpa henti. Akibatnya, bandara banyak yg tutup, mobil2 dan truk2 banyak yg ditinggal pengemudinya karena nyungsup di pinggir jalan. Hal ini mengakibatkan macet total di beberapa jalan tol dan jalan2 dalam kota. Weleh weleh... untung aku & Célia, di rumah saja... lagi nunggu delivery yg ngga datang2.... ternyata! tapi kasih kabar kek. Blessing in disguise nya sih jadi kita terhindar dari mara bahaya (taelaaah). Ngga kebayang deh terjebak di salju, dingin2. Trima kasih Allah.

Kechak

 

This is our first unofficial kechak performance. It was at a house warming party of one of the member of the group. Mbak Putu and mbak Ayu, my balinese friends and fellow dancers, have initiated a group of kechak dance, at last! A project that has been in discussion among us since few years ago. I'm happy and proud to be a member of this group. We are far from this performance ... but we enjoy dancing kechak.

Oh you should see how many food preparation that the host has prepared! I've never seen an abundance food like this in France.... as if there were a wedding party. See for yourself.
